Where We'll Be

We operate a small, just under three acre, family farm in Granville County, North Carolina. Our farm is conveniently located in Creedmoor near Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. Our Jacob, Shetland and Border Leicester sheep, Angora goats and French and English angora rabbits are raised for their FIBER -- wool, mohair, angora.

Due to this year's wedding events and having two teenagers in our home school, we will not be scheduling small group Farm Visits this year. We look forward to meeting you during Spring Fling, Fall Harvest Daze and the CFSA Farm Tour.

At Spring Fling and Fall Harvest Daze, you will meet our fleece & fiber makers. You'll hear about sources of fiber, differences between sheep and goats, shepherding and animal care. We'll talk about how fiber is harvested, and you will see raw, unprocessed sheep fleece (wool); washed wool; hand spun yarns; angora wool from our French Angora rabbits; mohair from our Angora goats; pictures of sheep shearing; demonstrations of drop spindle spinning; hand carding and spinning on a spinning wheel. You'll see how we gather water from rain to use for livestock and gardens.

We have planted a butterfly garden, and hope to have a quiet sitting spot for Farm Visitors later this Summer or Fall. NOTE: Due to the high heat and humidity Summertime 2006, we're re-doing our garden. UPDATE: We replanted again in 2007 - again high heat and drought conditions affected our plantings.  Due to the drought of 2007, we did not replant our garden. If Spring, 2008 is wetter, we may replant.

Farm visitors will be able to pat a lamb (Spring Fling), sheep, angora goat, and rabbits. Seasonally, we may have baby chicks and ducklings!

For your convenience, we have a Use Yer Foot hand-washing station for use after you pat The Fiber Flock.

We do not have a public restroom.

We do not have picnic facilities and ask you do not eat, drink (bottled water okay if it's hot) or smoke during your visit.

Effective January 1, 2008 our Rates are as follows:

Fall Harvest Daze 2008: $10 per family. More details on Fall Harvest Daze Page.

Spring Fling 2008: $10 per family. More details on Spring Fling Page.

Our farm is a Charter Member of the North Carolina Agritourism Networking Association (NC ANA) and a Goodness Grows in North Carolina Farm.  We are also Members of the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA),  the Jacob Sheep Breeders Association (JSBA) and the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA).
